My project requires council approval, what do I need to do?

Nothing! Carrolls Home Enhancements team will look after your applications requirements from drawing the plans to submitting the application. We can also organise any other documents that councils needs (bushfire report, geotech survey etc)

Do you stock all the hardware I need for my project?

We stock a large range of bolts, nails, screws, and many other items in our hardware department. If you need something we don't have, let us know and we will order it for you.

Is Carrolls work and materials gauranteed?

Yes! All of our materials have various gaurantees, a Carrolls Home Enhancement builder is fully licenced and gaurantees their workmanship for 5 years

How long does council approval take?

This varies between councils. But the average is 5-7weeks. This may take longer if the council requires ammendments to be made.

Do I need Home Owners Warranty Insurance?

Yes, if the project is valued (materials and labour) over $12000. Carrolls will organise this for you.

I am building myself. Do I need an owner-builders permit?

Only if the project has a value over $5000.00 (materials and labour). Permits can be obtained from the Dept. of Fair Trading Home Building Enquiries on 02 49257000

After my project is approved by council how long before a builder can start?

The average is two weeks but this varies on the time of the year.

Does Carrolls treated pine and hardwoods require painting or staining?

Yes. All Carrolls timber must be painted or stained. Talk to one of Carrolls staff for the right product for your needs.
